FORMS & PROCEDURES:
The IEMA Foundation Course
in Environmental Auditing
Penarth Management is an IEMA Approved Training Provider for this course under licence from AFNOR Groupe.
Climate change and other environmental concerns have raised the awareness of stakeholders in many organisations. Consequently, many organisations need to have access to trained internal auditors who can carry out a variety of audits to give management confidence that environmental concerns and legal compliance issues are being properly addressed by the business. This reduces the risk to the business and its impact on the environment.
Environmental management systems (EMS) have become an essential part of the strategy for business improvement. Standards such as ISO14001 and EMAS provide requirements for establishing the EMS of an organisation. The emergence of these Standards has created the need for professional personnel within the business with the capability to assess the EMS impartially and effectively. External certification of those systems by accredited certification bodies provides a public statement of the organisation’s policy for the environment and its implementation of appropriate controls to limit its impacts.
This course has been designed to train environmental auditors to take part in audits, providing guidance and assurance to management. However, it is also popular with other delegates who wish to develop a clear understanding of environmental management applied to modern
business.
