NATIONAL HIGHWAYS SECTOR SCHEME
What is the National Highways Sector Scheme? (NHSS)
The Highways Agency has developed a National Highways Agency Sector Schemes (NHSS) to apply the Quality Management Standard ISO 9001 to the various activities associated with the highways industry.
The Sector Schemes requires that companies have stringent controls in place to ensure that the work is carried out safely and in accordance with client requirements.
This is because they recognise that working alongside the highways can be a hazardous working environment.
